My friend Jubari was the model for Buffalo Soldier. He was taking a break and the sun was setting in the horizon. I put soft images of buffaloes across the waving American Flag. The Buffalo Soldiers were named by the Native Americans in part because their dark skin and curly texture of their hair were like a buffalo. They said that the Buffalo Soldiers fought like a wounded buffalo, which was a great compliment. The buffalo were a source of food, clothing and shelter for the Plains tribes.
